News & History

Latest course news and a look back at our history

We have sad and frustrating news for all the golfers who have enjoyed Pin-Hi over the past 40+ years. Audrey and John Thomas have decided to sell the land for development that the course is located on. While I had decided to move on after this season, this comes after we had found multiple people who wanted to purchase the business and keep running the golf course for the public to enjoy. The interested parties even agreed to the Thomas families' lease terms (and very large... increase in lease payments) however Audrey and John have decided to abruptly pull the carpet out from under us, our members and patrons. We would like to sincerely thank everyone who have chose to play our little family course over the years. It is very unfortunate that the course had to end like this after all the hard work put into the course over the years by my late father Ed, my mother Bea and myself. I hope everyone will still enjoy this great game of golf at other great courses in the area. Thank you for all the support over the years and I wish everyone the best in the future. - Glenn Robinson

In 1960 Carl Morash and Fred Boswick leased the land from John F. Thomas and developed a driving range and miniature golf course. In the 1964 they opened a short par 3 course.  Ed and Bea Robinson leased the property in 1977 adding many up-grades at the same time maintaining the popular short course. In 1992 holes 3, 4 and 5 were lengthened and changed from par 3 to 4.  Glenn Robinson joined his father as an owner in 1999 and in 2004 holes 2 and 8 were rerouted to the current layout today.

MOMENTS FROM THE PAST:

1987 - Pin-Hi wins the Crown Life N.S. Team Championship. Team consisted of Ed Robinson, Shawn Currie, Gerry Chaisson and playing pro Terry White.  The team represented Nova Scotia at the national championships at Bally Hally Golf Club in Newfoundland.

1999 - Glenn Robinson wins a spot on N.S. Willingdon Cup team at Hartlen's Point G.C. at the N.S. team trials in a playoff.  It is the first time a Pin-Hi member has qualified for a provincial Willingdon Cup team.
